Behind the school on Lakeview Road, Washington Island, WI is home to the Julie Gianni donation-paid public pickleball courts — three dedicated outdoor courts maintained in good condition and free to play for anyone. Equipment is provided in a lockbox using code DINK, and players are asked to return all gear and relock the box after use. A local group plays daily from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and welcomes all skill levels, with free lessons also on offer. Visitors note the courts draw a fun, competitive morning crowd and that the welcoming attitude makes drop-in play easy for travelers passing through.
