At the corner of 59th Street and Lake Shore Drive, Jackson Park in Hyde Park offers Chicago, IL residents access to 4 free, dedicated outdoor pickleball courts equipped with permanent nets, lights, and fencing — all in new condition. No fees are required to play, making this a genuinely accessible public option on the South Side. An organized group meets every Sunday at 4:00 PM from May through October, coordinated through the Chicago Pickleball Meetup page. Players mention the courts are somewhat difficult to find within the park, so checking directions on the Meetup site before heading out is strongly recommended.
