About this court
Located at 6600 Hidden Valley Road in Carlsbad, CA, Poinsettia Park has been a go-to pickleball destination since opening in October 2019. The facility features 6 permanent, lighted outdoor courts available free to the public every day of the week from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM — one of the more generous access windows among public courts in the United States. With a Google rating of 4.7 across 115 reviews, the courts consistently earn praise for their good condition and well-maintained surroundings. The layout separates courts into two categories: social play on courts 1–4 and challenge play on courts 5–6, giving players a clear structure for open play sessions. Posted rules help organize gameplay, and the park's ADA-accessible pathways, nearby restrooms, and on-site ball machine add to its practicality. Players note that the courts are handicap and stroller friendly, and that evening lighting makes weeknight sessions very usable. Being part of a larger multi-sport complex means Poinsettia Park also accommodates basketball, baseball, volleyball, and soccer — parking availability can vary when youth events are scheduled. Visitors mention that pickleball demand runs high here, particularly during peak hours, reflecting just how quickly the sport has grown in the Carlsbad area. Arriving early or on weekday mornings tends to offer the best chance at court time without a long wait.

What players are saying
Great outdoor courts with nice people. Typically always busy but thats the only negative.
Good vibes, great courts, even better competition.
Welcome to the prison yard! Bring your A game if you want to play on the challenge courts! Four stars not five because they should absolutely allocate three courts to challenge. No fun waiting for 20 minutes to play and then having to leave the court when you win if there are nine or more paddles in the queue. Convert two of the largely unused tennis courts to Pickleball and this place will be epic!
